Graduate High School

You don’t have to go to college in order to become a real estate agent in New Jersey. However, you do have to finish 75 hours of real estate education at a New Jersey Real Estate Commission-sponsored school.

Pass the State’s Real Estate Licensing Exam
After you’ve completed your real estate course work, you’ll take the state’s real estate licensing exam. This needs to be done within a year of completing your real estate classes.

In the state of New Jersey, all real estate agents must be sponsored by a real estate broker. So, after submitting your fingerprints, you’ll need to start looking for such a broker.
You can typically find one by typing “broker sponsorship” into Google. You’ll probably have to pay a small fee at the beginning of the relationship, but will likely be allowed to keep all of your commissions.
Finalize Your Licensing Application
The last step is to finalize your licensing application. Fill it out, pay the necessary fees, and mail your application to the New Jersey Licensing Services Bureau. Soon enough, you’ll receive confirmation, and will be selling real estate in the state of New Jersey.
